QAA uses Single Sign-On (SSO) for most of its software applications/service that require user authentication.

What is Single Sign-On?

Single sign-on is an authentication method that allows users to sign in using one set of credentials to multiple independent software systems.

Currently, A single set of Identity / user credentials are used to Access;

1. Windows (sign-in on PC/Laptops)
2. QAA Email
3. Microsoft Office Suite Applications ( Office 365 apps, Teams, OneDrive etc.)
4. External Apps (Zoom, Webex, Helpdesk, MyPromethean, etc.)
5. Government Apps (Mawared) -- Latest

More and more application / services will be authenticated using SSO and therefore, the integrity of your QAA credential is vital to maintain security of your identity. We recommend that you use Strong Password and do not share the password with anyone.

What is a Strong Password?

A strong password is one that is designed to be hard for a person or program to guess.

At least 8 to 12 characters —the more characters, the better.

A mixture of both uppercase and lowercase letters.

A mixture of letters and numbers.

Inclusion of at least one special character, e.g., ! @ # ? ]

Should you change your passwords frequently?

As long the password strength meets the above strong password criteria, frequent changing of password is not necessary. However, as more and more services offer to save passwords, it is considered best practice to change your password every 180 days.
